  • Facilities

CEE occupies two buildings on the MIT campus. Building 1 houses most of the civil engineering labs, classrooms and office space, as well as department headquarters. Building 48 houses the Ralph M. Parsons Laboratory for Environmental Science and Engineering. Established in the 1950s, Parsons Lab has evolved into one of the world's most respected multidisciplinary research centers focusing on natural waters and the environment. In addition to research laboratory space, Parsons Lab has classrooms, lab teaching facilities and office space. Both buildings feature new undergraduate teaching labs. Building 1 is home to the CEE undergraduate common room.
