The Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (ALJCI) has bestowed a substantial grant to the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT. Named after the father of CEE alumnus Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel ‘78, J-PAL will use this funding to create the Government Partnership Initiative (GPI), which will work with governments to design, evaluate, and scale up programs that aim to reduce poverty. According to MIT President L. Rafael Reif, J-PAL’s work transforms research to action and Jameel’s “abiding commitment to serve the world’s poorest people inspires us to accelerate our efforts and extend the reach of J-PAL’s transformative insights.” For the article, please see here.
