The objectives of the Lemelson-MIT Prize are to: (1) recognize outstanding mid-career inventors, (2) celebrate individuals who enhance economic opportunity and community well-being on a global scale, (3) foster their work and the potential for commercialization, and (4) promote role models who can inspire young people to pursue creativity.
