An audience of 30 MIT postdocs gathered on Tuesday, March 10 for a discussion on the academic job process held by four MIT faculty members and two MIT department heads. The panel consisted of CEE professors Ruben Juanes, Colette Heald, John Williams and Ben Kocar, as well as CEE Department Head Markus Buehler and DMSE Department Head Chris Schuh – all of whom provided insight for attending post docs into job applications, promotions and the overall job market in academia vs. industry. The event consisted of three arranged questions for the panelists, followed by a 30-minute Q&A from the audience.
