In a new All Ears MIT podcast, four MIT faculty members, including CEE professors Andrew Whittle and Dan Cziczo, discussed the historical and scientific significance behind the earth’s warming climate, as well as deliberated mitigation methods for the global temperature. Cziczo, also an associate professor in EAPS, relayed his research analyzing the effects of clouds in a progressively warming climate. Whittle, a geotechnical engineer, followed with his experience serving on the panel that assessed New Orleans’ hurricane protection systems after Katrina, and the safety review of Boston’s Big Dig tunnel system.
