Atmospheric Research Representative Visits D.C.

This May, an advisory board for the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) will meet with meet with house and senate representatives in Washington DC, in a consultation to focus on the promotion of increased funding in the geosciences. According to CEE and EAPS Associate Professor Dan Cziczo, an MIT representative to UCAR and an active member of the UCAR President’s advisory board, this is one area that has been specifically targeted for cuts at the National Science Foundation (NSF). “Our hope is to show how everyday life – from transportation to farming to health and safety – are affected by research in the geosciences,” said Cziczo.
