This spring, CEE Professor Herbert Einstein received an award at the International Congress for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) in Montreal for “outstanding contributions to rock mechanics”. The award is in recognition of Einstein’s many contributions over the years, and particularly the recent Shale symposium. The symposium, hosted by Einstein, was a three-day event featuring discussions on basics and slopes, tunnels and mines, and hydrocarbon extraction. For more information on the ISRM, please see here.
