On August 4, the Siebel Energy Institute marked its official launch with the announcement of 24 research grants nearing $1 million. Among the $50,000 grant recipients were CEE Professors Marta Gonzalez and Saurabh Amin. Gonzalez’ proposal aims to understand how transportation electrification impacts the power distribution system when transportation network constraints and human mobility needs are considered. Amin, along with CEE graduate student Devendra Shelar, will use his grant to build analytics for resilient control of electricity distribution networks.
