Researchers awarded $3.7 million for research on sustainable development in Kuwait

Professor Oral Buyukozturk is principal investigator on a new research project focused on sustainable development in Kuwait’s built environment. The $3.76 million project is funded through the Kuwait-MIT Center for Natural Resources and the Environment by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. It involves a team of researchers spanning four MIT departments — architecture; civil and environmental engineering; earth, atmospheric and planetary sciences; and nuclear science and engineering.
