In the wake of recent earthquakes in Chile and Haiti, Melissa Block of All Things Considered interviewed CEE Professor Eduardo Kausel, a native Chilean who began studying earthquakes after the Great Chilean Earthquake of 1960. Kausel and Block talked about how strict building codes help safeguard both people and buildings. The interview aired Monday on NPR. Listen at NPR.org.
