Kortney Adams S.M. ’00 plays the role of a mural painter, Emma, in the world premiere of “From Orchids to Octopi: An Evolutionary Love Story,” a play commissioned by the National Institutes of Health to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwins’ “On the Origin of Species.” The play is written by Melinda Lopez and performed by the Catalyst Collaborative@MIT. In a review in the Boston Globe, Louise Kennedy writes, “Kortney Adams projects both warmth and intelligence, making Emma quite believably a passionate artist, a loving wife and expectant mother, an intellectual seeker…and a woman who just happens to dream about extinct talking fish.” The play runs through May 2 at the Central Square Theater.
