Ocean Sunlight by Sallie (Penny) ChisholmAs part of their campaign to educate the public on the importance of photosynthesis to all life on the planet, Professor Sallie (Penny) Chisholm and co-author/illustrator Molly Bang have written a second children’s book, this time about ocean phytoplankton and their role in feeding life in the sea. The book, “Ocean Sunlight: How Tiny Plants Feed the Seas” (The Blue Sky Press, 2012), was released in May. Their first book together, “Living Sunlight: How Plants Bring the Earth to Life,” came out in 2009 (The Blue Sky Press). The books have received an award and starred reviews. Chisholm and Bang plan to collaborate on several more children’s science books in the Sunlight Series, each focused on a different aspect of the sun’s role in shaping our planet.
