Professors Marta Gonzalez and John Ochsendorf were highlighted in this month’s MIT Spectrum publication. In recognition of her recent study published in Scientific Reports, which used phone data to record people’s movement patterns and how interconnected people move in relation to one another, Gonzalez was commended for demonstrating that urban networks are determined socially and geographically. Ochsendorf was featured for his work with several graduate students and practicing architects and engineers in the design of low-energy buildings.
