NAS awards Agassiz Medal to Penny Chisholm

Professor Sallie (Penny) Chisholm, the Lee and Geraldine Martin Professor of Environmental Studies in CEE and biology is the recipient of the Alexander Agassiz Medal from the National Academy of Sciences for her “original contribution in the science of oceanography.” The NAS is honoring Chisholm for “pioneering studies of the dominant photosynthetic organisms in the sea and for integrating her results into a new understanding of the global ocean.” She will receive the award at a ceremony in April.
