Professor John Ochsendorf and students prepared a full-scale prototype of a timbrel vault for an exhibit in the National Design Triennial at the Cooper-Hewett, National Design Museum in New York City. The timbrel vault demonstrates that elegant design in a robust structure can be had using inexpensive locally available materials. The Design Triennial runs through Jan. 9, 2011.
