Professor Oral Buyukozturk chaired an international conference on nondestructive testing and health monitoring of materials and structures May 15-18 in Istanbul. About 500 authors from more than 40 countries were represented by the 200 papers presented at the NDTMS 2011 International Conference. RILEM, a an international organization founded in 1947 to promote scientific cooperation in construction materials and structures field, will sponsor publication of the 1,200 page proceedings in two volumes, creating what is expected to be the first major reference on this topic.
