Professor Joseph M. Sussman will give the 2009 Thomas D. Larson Transportation Lecture at Penn State today, Dec. 8. The Larson Lecture honors Tom Larson, a Penn State alumnus, professor and co-founder of the Larson Institute for his singular contributions to the university and the transportation field. Sussman is the JR East Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Engineering Systems at MIT. He will speak about the urgent need to address the nation’s essential transportation systems in a lecture titled, “Transportation in Contemporary Society: A Complex Systems Approach.” Read more (pdf download).
