Fred Moavenzadeh, the James Mason Crafts Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Systems Engineering, was named president of the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology last spring and began his new responsibilities in Abu Dhabi in July. The institute, which was developed with the support and collaboration of MIT, is a not-for-profit, post-graduate research institute dedicated to alternative energy, environmental technologies and sustainability.
