Winners of the 3rd Annual Course 1 Video Competition

PHOTO: Winners of the 3rd Annual CEE Video CompetitionBig Engineering can be defined in many ways; one being small scale change with big impact. How does YOUR Course 1 science and engineering research reflect Big Engineering? This was the theme of the 3rd Annual Course 1 Video Competition. The showcase, held on March 11, featured 10 two-minute films that answered the call. Junior Kali Rosendo took first place for a video highlighting her experience in the Traveling Research Environmental Experiences (TREX) subject this IAP. A team of graduate students – Wenjia Wang, Ruby Fu, Brittany Huhmann, William Porter, Xuanzong Guo, and Judy Yang – claimed second with a video on arsenic in groundwater (The video is currently under final editing and will be available for public release in two weeks). Transportation students Patton Doyle, Katie McLaughlin, Martin Elliot, Maya Shopova, and Dan Glick-Unterman left with third place for their video on the Detroit Community RailGraduate student Justin Chen was the audience favorite for his video on small motions and structural health monitoring. All videos are viewable on the CEE YouTube channel, including a video produced by headquarters with mascot Gunner.
