Research from graduate student Justin Montgomery and Francis O’Sullivan, director of research for the MIT Energy Initiative, was featured on Bloomberg. The pair found that the role that technology has played in the tight oil boom has been overstated and this is potentially leading to overly optimistic oil production forecasts by the United States Energy Information Administration.
